04/08/2015 - RACE UPDATE - The first annual FKSR Hill Climb race is set. Our course was certified by the engineers and the weatherman promised awesome weather. You can sign up online or be there at the venue that day for racer registration. A few safety tips and racing requirements, all racers will need to have race insurance for the day of the event. FKSR will be offering the insurance for $25 per rider from ISR. Racers will also need to have safety protective chest protection. If you do not have one, no worries. We will have them on hand for you to use and to share with your fellow racers. Also, your sled must have a tether switch. If you do not have one, we have been informed that the local dealerships have them for about $18 and a little labor to put it in. CLICK HERE to see all the rules and details for the Hill Climb event. So don't park that sled just yet, we have lots and lots of man made snow on the mountain and will be ready for you on the 18th. 04/14/2015 - RACE UPDATE - Getting closer to race day. Big question has been "Do we have snow?". Heck ya we have snow, it's Fort Kent, God's Country. The end of the road, no man's land; just below the arctic circle. I think i heard the other day that someone spotted a polar bear snow tanning in their back yard. :) Anyhow, the race is on, we have lots of snow and the track will be a fast one. Dana Thibeault, Race Director, spent this week mapping out the course with very lean turns making for some fast times to happen on race day. Double elimination, side by side racing. Don't forget. We have added the "Race Your Neighbor" class to our lineup. Each racer will get the official "winner" and "loser" certificate to post on your wall at home with all your other family photos. Register early online or be at the venue between 8-10 a.m to register. We will be having a bbq all day with hot dogs, burgers, and all the goodies. Music, racing and fun. Questions? Call Jim at 207-834-2234 or Steve at 207-745-9127. See you there!!

Fort Kent SnoRiders donate for public safety on trails
Jim Rioux, Left, President of Fort Kent SnoRiders, presented a $500 donation check to Ed Endee, Chief of Fort Kent Fire and Rescue towards the purchase of a $6,500 rescue Snowbulance. The "snowbulance" is an enclosed rescue pod with heater that can accommodate one patient and 2 EMTs, and can be towed behind a snowmobile or ATV with a wheel kit conversion. Fort Kent Fire and Rescue can retrieve patients on trails or remote areas of Fort Kent, New Canada, Wallagrass, St. John, and areas west to Allagash.
