Officers Report:
1. Treasurers Report: It was reported that the savings at NorState had XX, we had XX combined with varies accounts and xx with another account. The Acadia savings had no change from the previous month.
Major expenses were the liability insurance that we carry for the club; this year’s premium is $1,400.00 and web site domain names for $180.00 for 3 years.
The audit of the checkbook has been postponed until June 30th.
2. Membership: The club currently has about 160 members, who include and business member registered.
Old Business:
Trails update: No major water holes reported after the rains and all trial signs that had fallen due to the warm weather and rain have been put back up.
The Railroad crossing in the Perley Brooks is still a problem with some sledders taking a short cut instead of using the trail crossing. A word of warning to all sledders not using the trail crossing, if your caught you will be fined and if the problem persists the club could potentionally lose the privilege to use this trail. The club is looking into putting up a wooden snow fence along the tracks to discourage sledders from using the short cuts.
Groomer Update: The tucker and the mogul master drag has had some extensive work done to them due to the lack of snow, a reminder to all operators to slow down and watch for areas where there is bare ground. The tractor has only had the usual issues with lights not working.
Other: The club was informed that the operators will be going out more often, the plan is to have 300hrs logged in by the end of this month.
The spaghetti supper was a success, we netted 750.00. It was mentioned that there was not much local attendance and not much membership attendance. The future of these events lies solely on everyone’s participation.
The steak feed is set for the 20th of this month to be held at the senior citizens center. Tickets have been printed and each member in attendance at the meeting has been given 5 to sell or buy.
The Ride for All is set for February 25th and March 13th . Both events are to be held at the 10th Mountain and all volunteers are to be there for 8:30 on those days.
The signs for membership and you are here have been posted outside along the heritage trail. Thank you to those involved with this project.
The by-laws for the club are still being worked on. A meeting with the directors will take place as soon as they are ready.
New Business: The International Sled Festival will be held on February 5,6 &7. All interested sledders can register at any of the sled dealers in town or the Northern Door Inn.
The club is looking into getting the carnival back in town. Will have more info on this project as it becomes available.
Allen spoke about the Red Arrow clubs’ recent fundraiser. The fundraiser is similar to Lonesome Pine’s Packer Fund fundraiser. The potential to raise 20 thousand dollars with a single fundraiser is there with the club netting 10 thousand.
John Dolby, one of the group leaders and member of our club from the sledders from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York was in attendance at this meeting. He thanked us for our hospitality and for the great trails.
